Refer & earn: invite friends

Share your own invite link: 10 KoffeePoints for each friend who joins, and a free coffee chat for every 3.
You have your own invite link. When a friend joins KoffeeChat with it, you get 10 KoffeePoints, and every 3 friends who join unlock a free coffee chat for you. The person who joins gets a free account, as everyone does.
Find your link
- Choose Refer & earn in your account menu (on a phone, in the menu).
- Or go to Settings → Refer & earn, where you can also see who has joined.
- Shepherds can also press Refer & earn on Your profile.
Your link looks like app.koffeechat.com/r/ada-k7q2m4 and never changes. Organisation and work accounts don't have one.
Share it
- Copy puts the link on your clipboard to paste anywhere.
- WhatsApp opens WhatsApp with a short message and your link.
- Email opens your own email app with a message ready to send. KoffeeChat doesn't send it for you.
- Share (on phones) opens your phone's share options.
Pick A talent or A shepherd first: it changes the message, and for a shepherd the invite page asks your friend to choose Shepherd when we ask what brings them here. Either way, you get the credit.
When a friend counts
- They open your link and create a KoffeeChat account (with email or Google).
- They confirm their email address. Google accounts are confirmed already.
- Opened the link on one device and signed up on another? In their first 7 days they can paste your link in Settings → Refer & earn under Were you invited?.
Each person can only be invited once, by one person, and only as a new personal account. Your own link doesn't count for you, not even with the same address written another way (with dots or a +tag), and nor do accounts an organisation or the KoffeeChat team invited. Signing up again with other addresses of yours breaks the rules and isn't counted.
To keep it that way we store a one-way, keyed fingerprint of each invited email address (never the address itself). It stays after either account is deleted, so the same address can't be invited again.

- Points you earn last until the end of the month, like all earned KoffeePoints.
- After 20 friends in a month, more friends still count towards free coffee chats; they just don't add points that month.
- A free coffee chat is an extra chat on your plan, on top of your plan's chats. Requesting it still uses 1 KoffeePoint, like any coffee chat.
- If a free chat is declined, or you withdraw the request, you get it back.
For shepherds
Once your shepherd profile is approved you book coffee chats without a plan limit, so invites earn you KoffeePoints. Free chats only matter if you also book as a talent.
See who's joined
Settings → Refer & earn shows your link, how many friends have joined, your points this month, and the free chats you've earned and have left. Each friend shows with their first name, last initial and photo (if they share it). You also get a notification when a friend joins.
We may stop counting a referral that breaks the rules, such as one person signing up several times. Points from it that month are taken back.
Links shared before October 2026
Older Refer & earn links ended in join?ref=… (a name, or 8 letters and numbers). They still work and now open the invite page, so friends who use them still count, from now on.
