Finding talents to help
For shepherdsUpdated 17 Oct 2026
Browse talents who've chosen to be found, see what they're aiming for and invite them to a chat.
Talents lists early-career people on KoffeeChat who've chosen to be found by shepherds, with whatever each has decided to share. It opens once your shepherd profile is approved.
Who you'll see
- Talents who've finished setting up and haven't switched off Show my profile to shepherds.
- Their name, photo (unless they've hidden it), role or headline, university, location, career stage, skills and the companies they follow.
- Their CV, LinkedIn, growth plan or career ladder only if they've chosen to share each one with shepherds.
Work accounts and shepherd accounts are never listed. Talents who book you always appear on Chats, with what they shared in their request, even if they're not in the directory.
Search and filter
- Search by name, skill or company.
- Filter by Companies they're targeting, Industry, Career stage, Dream role, University and Location.
- Under Shared with shepherds, show only talents who share a CV, LinkedIn, growth plan or career ladder.
- Tick Recently active for talents who've been on KoffeeChat in the last 30 days.
- Sort by Best match, Recently active or Newest.
On a phone, press Filters to open them. Active filters show as chips, with Clear all to reset.
View a talent's profile
Press View profile on a card. Their profile opens in a window over the list, with why they might be a good fit, their dream role, what they share, the companies they're interested in and what other shepherds have said about them.
- Press View CV to read their CV inside the window, and Back to return to their profile.
- On a computer, press Maximise to fill the screen and Restore size to go back.
- Press Back or the cross, or press Escape, to return to the list.
Invite a talent to a chat
- Step 1: Press Invite to chat on their card, or Invite to coffee chat on their profile.
- Step 2: Choose a topic (or type your own, up to 80 characters) and add a message if you like (up to 500 characters).
- Step 3: Press Send invite. They get a notification with a Book a time button, and an email with your photo, the topic and your message, unless they've turned invitation emails off.
You can invite each talent once every 7 days, and the card shows Invited once you have. The talent books a time that suits them, and the request comes to you as usual.
- Your topic is the chat's topic: the talent isn't asked for a topic or questions, only a time and what to share with you (their CV, growth plan, career ladder or LinkedIn). They see your message while they book.
- They can book from your invite for 30 days. After that they can still book you the usual way.
