Audio calls on KoffeeChat

For talents and shepherdsUpdated 17 Oct 2026

Join your coffee chat as an audio call right here, what you need, and how to let your microphone in on iPhone, Android or a computer.

We're trying audio calls inside KoffeeChat with a small group of shepherds. If your shepherd is one of them, you talk right here: no meeting link, no other app. It's audio only for now.

Joining the call

  1. Step 1: Open Your coffee chats and find the confirmed chat. From 10 minutes before the start, it shows Join call. Earlier, it says when the call opens (for example Opens at 5:50 PM).
  2. Step 2: Press Join call. You'll see who the chat is with and whether they're already there. Test your microphone shows a level meter so you know it works.
  3. Step 3: Press Join call again and allow the microphone when your browser asks.

Got an instant call link from your shepherd? Open it and press Join now: the call opens straight away, with no booked slot to wait for. Got a meeting link from a shepherd?

The email that confirms your chat has a Join the call on KoffeeChat button too, and its calendar invite points to the call.

Where to find itOpen your coffee chats

During the call

  • A soft green ring round someone's photo shows who's speaking.
  • Mute turns your microphone off and on.
  • Leave asks first. Leave call leaves just you: you can rejoin while the call is open. End call for everyone ends it for your shepherd too: they see that the call has ended, and it can't be rejoined.
  • At the top you'll see how long you've been talking and the minutes left. 5 minutes left appears near the end.
  • The call closes 15 minutes after the chat's end time, so you can finish your sentence.
  • If the connection drops, you'll see Reconnecting… and the call picks up again on its own.
  • If you can't hear anything, press Tap to hear (your browser wants a tap before it plays sound).

Good to know

Calls aren't recorded unless you both agree: either of you can ask, and either of you can stop. Otherwise we keep only when each of you joined and left. Headphones help: no echo, and you'll hear better. Recording and summaries
